Leis an Acht sin, ceadaítear taifid stáit atá 30 bliain d’aois ar a laghad a scaoileadh lena n-iniúchadh ag an bpobal agus lena gcaomhnú go buan. I mbliana, scaoileadh comhaid a bhaineann go formhór leis an mbliain 1988. Tá an obair a bhaineann leis sin i measc phríomhfheidhmeanna na Cartlainne Náisiúnta agus bíonn gá le méid mór eagrúcháin agus ullmhúcháin ina leith. Cuirtear na comhaid ar fáil don phobal ar an gcéad lá oibre den Bhliain Úr, tráth a mbíonn siad 30 bliain d’aois go hoifigiúil. Roghnaigh na cartlannaithe a bhí ag obair ar na sealbhúcháin nua roinnt doiciméad spéisiúil lena scanadh. Níor scanadh na comhaid ina n-iomláine ach tá siad ar fáil do thaighdeoirí i seomra léitheoireachta na Cartlainne Náisiúnta a bhíonn ar oscailt ó Luan go hAoine, ó 09.15 go 17.00.
