Archive From Home: Twigg family recipe book
Welcome to our new #ArchiveFromHome video series! We’re closed to the public at the moment due to the pandemic but we’ve taken this opportunity to give you a flavour of the rich records which we hold in trust for you. In this series, staff of the National Archives pick a record from our collections and explain why they’ve chosen it – it may be a document that has a personal interest for them or simply one which they really like! In this first video, archivist Elizabeth McEvoy chooses recipes from an early 18th-century recipe book drawn from our private collections. It contains a blend of savoury and sweet recipes together with household hints and cures so go on, try making this ‘good plumb cake’ or 'Diet Drink’ and happy baking!
