Documents on Irish Foreign Policy Series - volumes I-VII

DIFP volume 1Published by the Royal Irish Academy in association with the National Archives of Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Documents on Irish Foreign Policy project aims to make available the contents of important documents relating to Irish foreign policy. Documents selected include some from collections in the National Archives, such as those of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Dáil �ireann and the Department of The Taoiseach. Other collections, such as those in the UCD Archives Department, also are being used.

Signature of Michael Collins, one of the signatories to the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921. He was to lose his life in the Civil War which followed ratification of the Treaty by Dáil Éireann.

The first volume in the series, published in 1998, covers the beginnings of an independent Irish foreign policy in the turbulent period 1919-1922 and runs to volume 7 which covers the period 1941-1945.
