The National Archives’ microsites are currently offline. A recent review of the old server used to host these sites showed that it could no longer be safely supported. As a result, the microsites have been taken offline and will remain unavailable for some time while we rebuild them on a new, secure platform.

No. We have full backups of all images, databases, and content from the microsites. The records themselves are safe.

The microsites will be offline for some time. They cannot be restored on the old system and must be rebuilt on a new, secure platform. This is a significant technical project and will take time to complete.
